Paris Launches Hoi An City Cultural Days

The head of the Hoi An municipal administration, Nguyen Van Son, discussed Hoi An’s significant development potential during the two-day festival. He highlighted the city’s cultural and ecological strengths, which have helped it become a popular tourist destination in central Vietnam. With over five million visitors every year, including a growing number of international travelers, Hoi An has established strong relationships with French agencies and organizations. The city is currently collaborating with the French Embassy in Hanoi to create a French Quarter on Phan Boi Chau Street, with the support of the French Development Agency (AFD) and an investment of nearly VND1,000 billion. Hoi An aims to become a creative city and join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. The city submitted its application in June 2023 and anticipates approval this October. “National Day Celebrated with Painting Exhibition in Hanoi”

The exhibition titled “Dat Nuoc Toi” (Our Country) showcases a magnificent collection of landscape paintings from the Modern Art Collection of the museum. The selected paintings, created between 1945-2007, feature renowned artists from different generations. These include graduates of the Indochina Fine Art School, such as Luong Xuan Nhi, Nguyen Van Ty, Tran Dinh Tho, Huynh Van Thuan, Phan Ke An, and artists trained in Resistance Art courses like Luu Cong Nhan and Dao Duc. The exhibition also features the works of artists from subsequent generations, including Tran Thanh Ngoc, Nguyen Thanh Chau, Do Duc, and Do Thi Ninh. The Command Board of Station 560 Visits Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Ho Dac Thanh On September 1, the Command Board of Station 560, Regiment 451, led by Major Nguyen Bien, Station Political Commissar, visited Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Ho Dac Thanh at his home in ward 5, Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province. Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Ho Dac Thanh, former Captain of “ship without numbers” (alias Ship 41), played a crucial role in transporting weapons to Vung Ro Wharf in late 1964 and early 1965. This enabled the provision of weapons, food, and medicines to supply the southern front, contributing to the victory in liberating the South and reunifying the country in the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign in 1975. Vung Ro Wharf, located in Hoa Xuan Nam Commune, Phu Yen province, is one of the most important wharves of the Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea.
