Grape and Wine Festival Begins in Ninh Thuan Vietnam

Tran Quoc Nam, chairman of the Ninh Thuan Province People’s Committee, is excited to announce the upcoming grape festival. The festival aims to celebrate the hard work and dedication of grape growers, as well as highlight the value of vines and grape-based products. Additionally, the festival hopes to establish Ninh Thuan as a premier grape and wine destination, attracting tourists from near and far.

The festival has been held biennially since 2014, showcasing a wide range of performances, exhibitions, and cultural events.

“The festival plays a vital role in enhancing the provincial potential for agricultural, sea-based economic, cultural, and tourism development,” emphasized Nam.

Various programs are being organized within the framework of this year’s festival, which is set to conclude on Sunday. One of the highlights of the festival is a ceremony to receive UNESCO recognition for the pottery art of Vietnam’s Cham ethnic group as intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection.

With their skillfulness and pottery-making tools, Vietnam’s Cham ethnic artisans have created a wide range of products to meet daily needs, as noted by Deputy Prime Minister Ha.

These pottery items exhibit the remarkable creativity and exceptional skills of the Cham ethnic people, serving as a tangible reflection of their vibrant culture and intricate daily life.

“We are thrilled and honored to celebrate the pottery art of the Cham ethnic group. This historic craft has received the prestigious recognition of being included on the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent safeguarding. It is a moment of great pride for Vietnam, as this is the 15th intangible cultural heritage from our nation to be included on this esteemed list,” Ha joyfully exclaimed.

State President Thuong, accompanied by a working delegation, visited the historic Bau Truc pottery village in Phuoc Dan Town, located within Ninh Phuoc District on Thursday afternoon.
