Norwegian Ambassador Explores Vietnamese Tet at Duong Lam Ancient Village

The Norwegian diplomat is excited to explore the cultural similarities between their country and Vietnam during the New Year holiday, a time for family reunion. In the photo, the diplomat’s family poses for a group picture with local residents in Duong Lam.
Mia Pagoda was constructed during the Tran Dynasty (1225-1406) and still houses numerous ancient artifacts. It has the largest collection of ancient statues in Vietnam, with 287 statues.
Duong Lam is renowned for its architectural charm and culinary traditions, making it a must-visit destination for tourists in Hanoi. Tourists often get to taste a local specialty, chè lam cake, in the ancient houses. The cake is made from simple ingredients such as glutinous rice, mung beans, ginger, honey or sugar, and peanuts. It is a popular treat during Tet, the Vietnamese New Year.
Exploring the ancient houses and experiencing the old architecture is a fantastic experience for the Norwegian diplomat’s family.

Vietnamese Paintings with Traditional Materials Displayed in France

An exhibition showcasing 50 traditional artworks made by alumni of fine arts universities in France and Vietnam is currently on display. The artworks, created on traditional materials such as poonah paper, silk, wood, and lacquer, aim to highlight diverse aspects of daily life and religious beliefs in both countries. Nghiem Xuan Dong, director of the Vietnam Culture Centre in France, expressed that this exhibition offers a valuable opportunity for international friends to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture. The event is part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic ties (1973-2023) and the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership (2013-2023). Vietnam impresses visitors at cultural festival in Egypt

The Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt shows many documents, books and photos on culture, history, land and people of Vietnam, especially its outstanding achievements after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi (renewal). Besides books on tourism introducing attractive destinations and unique features of regions, there also are magazines, photos, maps and documents and documentary screenings on Vietnam and the country’s specialities of fried spring rolls and coffee. The event is party of a series of activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Egypt (1963-2023).
